Update 29th Ramadhan 1437

Bismillah…

Assalaamu Alaikum,

Subhan Allah, it’s been so long since the last post.  I remember the way I felt when I was writing it, I was so full of energy and ideas I felt so inspired and then… I just disappeared.  There are many reasons but ultimately, it was a combination of being busy and very easily distracted.  Admittedly, I’m not a very good multi-tasker.Alhamdulillah, we’re all well and I pray that you all are too Allah bless you all.

I tend to feel a little melancholy towards the end of Ramadhan.  I remember as a new Muslim, I would sit there and visualise  devils being released from their chains* at the stroke of maghrib like some scary movie, ruining my fairytale Ramadhan happiness.  Alhamdulillaah as the years have passed I have stopped the visualisations but the thought still somewhat remains with me….until the Eid Fun begins!

Alhamdulillaah the children have been (more…)

Childrens post Hifdh Progress

Bismillaah…..

Assalaamu alaikum,

Its been so long since I last posted subhan Allah.  I’ve been unwell and it’s really taken its toll on my own progress but alhamdulillaah getting better now and hope to pick up the pace with my hifdh bi ithnillah.

We’re facing a big challenge with the children now as the long-term work has begun.  We’ve been trying hard to maintain their enthusiasm while trying not to push them or make them feel pressured and that is not an easy task and isn’t always successful. The most important thing when this happens is to be able to change and adapt things to suit you all and not be too rigid in any routine. (more…)

He was so nervous that he was itchy all over and it stopped as soon as he finished subhan Allaah!

Alhamdulillaah everyone was home to give him a hug and a cheer.

May Allaah bless them abundantly We’re all so happy.

It is most definetely PARTY TIME in shaa Allah!

Post-Hifdh Routine

Bismillaah….

Assalaamu alaikum

May Allaah bless her,  since she completed her 1st round of hifdh, my daughter has now started a new routine for revision.  It’s very similar to what she was doing before but just slightly different.

Her new daily routine is as follows: (more…)

Its A Super-Update!!!!

Bismillaah….

Assalaamu alaikum

We’ve been away for a very long time subhan Allaah!  There have been a few different reasons but alhamdulillaah we are all good and healthy now.

Even though we’ve been away we’ve all still been working really hard.

During Ramadhan they had a bit of a boost with their hifdh.  They finished Surah Yusuf quite quickly and carried on memorising at a much faster pace maa Shaa Allaah.  My daughter (now 11yrs) decided that she wanted to move ahead of her brother (9yrs) and learn more than him per day so we agreed to help her.  She increased her daily portion bit by bit and seemed to be managing  it really well and even enjoying the new amount.  Subhan Allaah one of the nicest things for me has been to see her so much more confident.  A few years ago she was complaining that she wasnt “good at hifdh like her brother” and here she was now learning (more…)

The Best Hifdh Rewards For Children Are “Experiences”

Bismillaah….

Assalaamu alaikum

stuff

One thing  I can say is that in 2015 we have no shortage of “stuff”.  We save and buy and save and buy more of the things that we feel we need or might like.  I can’t count the number of times I’ve bought something, absolutely convinced that its going to make my life so much easier. I then find myself pushing it into the back of a cupboard somewhere after a few weeks!

My children have caught this bug from me too. All of the adverts and posters and billboards have them asking for all sorts of toys as rewards for hifdh achievements.

Sometimes I’ve bought the things they’ve asked for. I find that after a while just like me, they soon grow bored with their new toys and push them aside.  How often have we looked at the children of today and wondered…”why are they so unhappy with what they have?  They have so much!”

In my experience, the things that really matter and make a massive impact on their lives are “experiences”.  (more…)
