Some Different Ways to Motivate Children

Its been a while since I posted last, but Alhamdulillaah we have all been quietly working.  We found a really cool spreadsheet maasha Allaah.  Once you input how much you have memorised and how much you memorise per day, it calculates the exact day that you will finish on!  Let me know if you are interested in using it and I’ll post the link. My family and I recently discovered a lovely video series on YouTube that we all LOVE!

Its called Al Musaafir Ma3 Al Qur’aan which means roughly Traveller with the Qur’aan.  It is a series of 30 episodes where the host travels around the world to meet different types of people who have memorised the whole Qur’aan.  While interviewing them and testing their memorisation skills he gives lots of advice and motivational talks.  Keep some tissues handy as many of the episodes bring tears to the eyes. Assalaamu alaikum,

it’s about 10.pm right now and all though it’s not that late, it’s an unusual time for me to make a blog post…but I just had to share this.

I just read the most amazing article…why amazing?  well it was amazing to me because  it’s as if the sister that wrote it was talking directly to me subhan Allaah it was advice that I really needed!  I spend a lot of my time teaching my children (I have 4 altogether alhamdulillaah) and generally looking after them so I don’t often get a chance to socialise with people who are also memorising. Sometimes I feel like I’m missing out on those little bits of advice or encouragement that you would share  but then…along came this article subhan Allaah. (more…)
