They finished Surah Taha maasha Allaah

Assalaamu alaikum,

maasha Allaah the children finished Surah Taha today.   That is their 6th juz now subhaan Allaah.

May Allaah bless them and increase them in good Ameen.

Update: 28/12/11

Assalaamu alaikum,

maasha Allaah the children finished Surah Maryam and started Taha this week.    I’m happy but I feel like I’m in some kind of high speed car chase.  I visualise myself with my left hand behind the passenger seat and my right hand on the wheel….I look behind me to see how close they are…and they (my children) are very close behind me indeed!

I am behind schedule but alhamdulillaah I am still moving.   I had a few setbacks and I’ll be writing about them soon in-shaa Allaah. (when you find out what they are you’ll see the irony in that last sentence lol).

Their progress encourages me to keep going alhamdulillaah, may Allaah bless them and increase them.

Should we ask for help?

Assalaamu alaikum,

its been a while since we last posted anything… but to be honest….there hasn’t  really been that much to say!

The children may Allaah bless them are still moving on steadily with their memorisation.  They both finished Suratul Kahf on Thursday alhamdulillaah and started Surah Maryam today. ( I’ll be posting the new chart in the next few days in-shaa Allaah) (more…)

What happened next…

Assalaamu alaikum,

it took a while for us to update sorry about that.  The last thing I mentioned was the good news of the children finishing the juz maasha Allaah.  We were also deliberating where they would go next in memorisation.

Oh and I found the treat I was looking for lol!

I had mixed feelings about their new accomplishment, it was definitely a time to reflect about a lot of different things subhan Allaah. (more…)

New Charts for Juz Dhariyat

Assalaamu alaikum

I just made some new charts to help monitor progress for Juz Dhariyaat. As you can see my design themes are pretty basic.  If you’d like to use them but maybe a different colour just send me a message and I’ll change them for you in-shaa Allaah.

What a surprise!!!

Assalaamu alaikum,

today was the official start after Eid.  Everyone had  recovered (somewhat) from all the late nights of Ramadhan and early morning and parties of Eid and was ready to work again.  I was a little worried that they would have forgotten some ayaat over the holiday period so as tired as I still was, we couldn’t delay any longer.

I sat with the children to read Al-Hashr.  I asked my daughter to close her eyes and read as much as she could so I would know where to start hifdh from.  Then she read…..and read….  and read…until maasha Allaah to my surprise she got to the end.  We all cheered and made dua for her with hugs and kisses all round.  Her brother asked her “how did you know the end like that?” and she replied “I don’t know, I just knew it”.  I was really happy as it seemed that playing the tapes of the surahs  in their room had worked alhamdulillaah.
