Update 29th Ramadhan 1437

Bismillah…

Assalaamu Alaikum,

Subhan Allah, it’s been so long since the last post.  I remember the way I felt when I was writing it, I was so full of energy and ideas I felt so inspired and then… I just disappeared.  There are many reasons but ultimately, it was a combination of being busy and very easily distracted.  Admittedly, I’m not a very good multi-tasker.Alhamdulillah, we’re all well and I pray that you all are too Allah bless you all.

I tend to feel a little melancholy towards the end of Ramadhan.  I remember as a new Muslim, I would sit there and visualise  devils being released from their chains* at the stroke of maghrib like some scary movie, ruining my fairytale Ramadhan happiness.  Alhamdulillaah as the years have passed I have stopped the visualisations but the thought still somewhat remains with me….until the Eid Fun begins!

Alhamdulillaah the children have been (more…)

Ways To Memorise: Small Children Memorising with a Tape Recorder

Bismillaah…

Assalaamu alaikum,

This is another method of memorisation from the excellent book “Kayfa Tahfathul Qur’aan Al Kareem”  By Dr Yahya Al Gawthaany May Allaah reward him with much good for all of his good work.

The method we have chosen today is:

TaHfeeth Al-Atfaal As-Sighaar Bitasjeel Aswaatihim/ Small Children memorising with Tapes of their Voices

There are several ways of memorising with a tape recorder this is one of them. The others will follow in-shaa Allaah .

The Author wrote what could mean:

  1. Get a tape Recorder and some blank tapes.  Then get a child that is  4 years old or more. (more…)

New Review Schedule

Bismillaah…

Assalaamu alaikum,

we have now started a new review schedule alhamdulillaah.

We used to read half a juz (10pages) every day before breakfast but now that they have memorised that amount I felt that they would need to increase the amount they review to 1 juz per day so that they can read it all in a week.  I think that even though its more work it makes things firmer in the memory to review everything in a week.  The plan is to eventually read 5 ajzaa per day but that is much much later.  We tried reading the other half juz in the evening just before bed but that was an unreliable time as sometimes we would be tired or I would be busy with other things. Bismillaah…

Assalaamu alaikum,

This is another method of memorisation from the excellent book “Kayfa Tahfathul Qur’aan Al Kareem”  By Dr Yahya Al Gawthaany May Allaah reward him with much good for all of his good work.

Ways to Memorise: Memorisation Between Two

Bismillaah…

Assalaamu alaikum,

I have a lovely book called “Kayfa tahfadh al-Qur’aan al-Kareem (how to memorise the Noble Qur’aan)” by Dr Yahya Ibn Abdur-Razaq Al-Gawthaany.  Maasha Allaah its a really lovely book and it combines between the main principles of memorisation and different methods in which it can be done.  My husband and  I will try our best to give basic/general translations of some of these methods to share with you in-shaa Allaah.

The first we have chosen is:

Al-Hifdh Bayna Ithnayn/Memorisation Between Two

The author (hafeethahullaah) said what could mean: (more…)

Onwards to Suratul Hajj

Bismillaah…

Assalaamu alaikum,

Alhamdulillaah, today the babies…well babies to me at least, they finished suratul Anbiyaa, before me I might add.  I started way before them but stopped on the 8th pg to go back and tighten up Al-israa and then zooooooooom they came up and and flew past me maasha Allaah!  I’ll be posting the chart for suratul Hajj soon in-shaa Allaah.

I pray that they preserve the Qur’aan better than the people preserve their most precious  gold ameen.

It amazes me that for every ayah we read our beloved Prophet (sallahu alaihi wa sallam)  will gain more reward, our first teacher subhan Allaah.

Overcoming Hubut/Mental Block (taken from blog fee qalbee)

Bismillaah…

Assalaamu alaikum,

it’s about 10.pm right now and all though it’s not that late, it’s an unusual time for me to make a blog post…but I just had to share this.

I just read the most amazing article…why amazing?  well it was amazing to me because  it’s as if the sister that wrote it was talking directly to me subhan Allaah it was advice that I really needed!  I spend a lot of my time teaching my children (I have 4 altogether alhamdulillaah) and generally looking after them so I don’t often get a chance to socialise with people who are also memorising. Sometimes I feel like I’m missing out on those little bits of advice or encouragement that you would share  but then…along came this article subhan Allaah. (more…)
