Our Journey as a family towards memorisation of the Qur'aan

Assalaamu alaikum,

Its been so long since I last posted subhan Allah.  I’ve been unwell and it’s really taken its toll on my own progress but alhamdulillaah getting better now and hope to pick up the pace with my hifdh bi ithnillah.

We’re facing a big challenge with the children now as the long-term work has begun.  We’ve been trying hard to maintain their enthusiasm while trying not to push them or make them feel pressured and that is not an easy task and isn’t always successful. The most important thing when this happens is to be able to change and adapt things to suit you all and not be too rigid in any routine.

At the moment they’re still cycling through this routine post-hifdh-routine.

We’ve made a few changes to make things easier for them like cutting the daily portion recited from memory to 1 page.  The reason for this is that they are still small and this is a habit we want them to maintain for life so we feel their doesnt need to be a strict deadline on it to cause stress and de-motivation.  We still have our celebrations lol, they werent giving those up in hurry.

We will be posting up more charts soon in shaa Allah and other things I’ve found helpful and some advice for both children and adults that have ADHD in shaa Allaah.

May Allah always enable us to remember and make dua to Him for you all, for ease in your affairs and acceptance of your good actions and forgiveness of any bad actions and swiftness and ease in performing all good actions aameen

As salaam alaikum I was missing your posts and so glad you wrote. May Allah grant you shifa. Ameen You inspire me so much. I was wondering if we could keep in contact on a 1:1 either through facebook or email. A bit about myself firstly. I am on a journey too to memorise the Quran but having started to read the arabic text Quran only a few years ago and just getting my fluency is ongoing. However not having literacy I listened to reciters and found that I had memorised a few suras. So last year I started my own plan on memorisation. Baby steps – i just completed Sura Muzammil last week. I am on Sura Yasin now. Additionally I would like to keep in touch with you and include my daughter to discuss home schooling. Awaiting your response inshaAllah May the Peace, Mercy and Blessing of the Creator be with you, Nafisa

  5. May Allah make it easy for you and your family you are truly an inspiration to me and mine.
