Our Journey as a family towards memorisation of the Qur'aan

Assalaamu alaikum

alhamdulillaah its been a really interesting week.  My son has been working super hard these last few days Allahumma baarik alaihi (Allah bless him).

With under a juz and just a few days remaining till completion, its been exciting and also quite challenging for him.

He’s 9 yrs old now and naturally,  just loves to play alhamdulillaah!

When it comes to hifdh we try our best to keep everything stress-free, a “hifdh without tears” approach so to speak. Even though we are eager for them to get their hifdh done, we don’t force them but rather just try to encourage them.  This however can present us with a slight problem when they just don’t feel like doing it!

This is where things like the book of Hifdh-spiration are helpful.

An example of this is  a trip to a theme park that we’ve planned for them when he completes his 1st round in shaa Allaah.  We try to remind him of this when he becomes de-motivated.  We also let him look at pictures of the place or other things that we may use as  incentives.

We also try to help him get it done as early as possible as the later in the day it is, the harder it is to get started.

Another thing that helps is to sit with him in the same room and do our own hifdh or revision.  It reminds him that we are all in this together and that no one has gone off to have fun without him.

May Allaah make it easy for him and us all and accept it from us aameen
