Our Journey as a family towards memorisation of the Qur'aan

Bismillaah…

Assalaamu alaikum,

companion_collection

This arrived at my doorstep yesterday and we’re all really excited to start playing!

It’s a beautiful set by Learning Roots called “Companion Collection“.

I feel it’s really important when studying hifdh to teach children about The Seerah. It’s so encouraging to hear about the amazing life of the Prophet Muhammad (Salla Allaahu alaihi wa sallam) and those that were with him.

A dream of mine is that my children are able to think about and recall stories of  our blessed
Prophet of Allaah (Salla Allaahu alaihi wa sallam) and  his Companions (Radhiya Allaahu ‘anhum)  with vivid detail.  I want them to know them better than any super hero or princess, they are the best role models.  This information is a  part of the amazing history of Islaam and teaches us so much.  Hearing about them makes our journey to memorise the Qur’aan so much more special to us as we know that it is something that they did too.

The problems that I have faced in my quest to achieve this dream is that it was difficult to find child friendly resources that are authentic.  There are books about the Messenger (Salla Allaahu alaihi wa sallam) however books about the companions are harder to find, even in Arabic.

Learning Roots have seen this problem and have come to my rescue may Allaah bless them and accept their efforts from them and make them heavy on their scale of good deeds aameen.

They’ve put together a wonderful set to help teach us about the Companions Of the Prophet (Salla Allaahu alaihi wa sallam).  They’ve put it into a format that is fun and accessible for all alhamdulillaah.  I’m not going to say much…I’ll give you a link for a series of videos that their CEO Zaheer Khatri has put together.  They contain lots of excellent advice for us parents and some free resources (always a favourite of mine lol) including a lovely personalised bookmark.

Enough from me, please take a look here….www.iwanttobelike.com

He’s certainly not most ppls cup of tea but Yasir Qadhi’s seerah is simply excellent. Everyone from over 6 in my house are engrossed and enthralled. Very thorough, in depth and authentic. You can skip all the Q n A at end the end.
