Our Journey as a family towards memorisation of the Qur'aan

Assalaamu alaikum,

Alhamdulillaah things have been going  well with the family hifdh.

The route that we originally planned was in 3 stages

1st.Al-Naas to Al-Thariyaat and then

2nd stage was from Al -Israa to Qaaf and then

3rd and final stage from Al Baqarah to Al-Nahl.

The idea was that once they get used to learning longer surahs,  things would get easier as they went along as the suwar would get shorter and shorter.

Alhamdulillaah They were nearly at the end of stage 2 maa shaa Allaah but we decided that it would be better for them to start stage 3 from al Baqarah now while they’re still enthusiastic.  It’s a big jump but  would help build their confidence and also that once they finish that stage, it would be nice to have surahs that have 4 or 5 pages left to complete.

I asked them what they thought and they were really excited alhamdulillaah.  I’m looking forward to hearing suratul Baqarah read in the house everyday too in shaa Allaah.

May Allaah bless them and make it easy for them Aameen

  1. MashAllah!
Am almost done juz 28, but I really want to memorize surah kahf and yaseen before moving to baqarah

    • sorry my dear sister I was sick for quite a while. Maa shaa Allaah may Allaah make your journey easy for you I’m so glad to hear about your progress. I remember when you finished Juz Tabaarak (I hope I’m not imagining things) May Allaah bless you ❤ ❤

      • I hope you are feeling better now.May Allah grant you shifa.
        Ameen to your duas.
May Allah grant you and your family the highest station in jannah.

  2. As salaamu alaykum,
    Hope you’re doing well.

MashaAllah. I love hearing about how u guys are progressing 🙂

Al Baqarah is one of my favourite surahs, insha Allah they will enjoy it. It has a special place in my heart cos it’s the one started with. Im a bit ocd and the thought of not doing things in order makes my heard hurt, even tho my teacher wanted me to start from the back. Its weird I wasnt phased about jumping into the deep end, in fact I find longer ayaat a lot easier too learn than short ones and the latter ajza really scare me lol

Anyway, may Allah make it easy for u all, may it be a source of barakah and enjoy 🙂

    • wa alaikumussalaam wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuh, I’m so sorry I took so long subhan Allaah I was unwell but alhamdulillaah on the road to recovery now.
Its definetely one of my favourites too for the same reason. I started with juz amma but went there afterwards while I was pregnant with my daughter. The language in juz amma is very different to that in al baqarah so I completely understand what you mean about finding it easier, it just kind of… comes out (I hope you know what I mean lol). Until now I still have problems trying to remember suratul infitaar and takweer without making a mistake *covers face*
aameen to your lovely dua and may Allaah grant you the same and more
      take care
