Our Journey as a family towards memorisation of the Qur'aan

Onto Surah FurQaan…

Assalaamu alaikum,

The children both finished Surah An Noor today alhamdulillaah.  My daughter finished first with her teacher and my son was so inspired by her that he sat and finished off the last portion he had by himself with my daughter checking him maasha Allaah. I have to get some new CD’s ready and charts for Surah FurQaan in-shaa Allaah.  Also a little party lol you know we love a party, and there might be another one soon after in-shaa Allaah as in about 2 or 3 pages they will have 8 ajzaa by the permission of Allaah.

May Allaah bless them and make them always co-operate upon good and protect and prevent each other and others from doing evil ameen.

  1. Mashallah! Your children are inspirational. How old are they? My only baby is 6 months now and I want him to be a Hafiz inshallah. What advice can u give me sis ? Is it still too early to begin with him?
    Barak Allahu feeki 🙂

    • May Allaah bless you and your whole family ameen, its never too early. The best way to start is to memorise yourself. You know what babies are like subhan Allaah they are amazing. When you think they are not they are paying so much attention. If he hears the Qur’aan especially from you he will learn it in-shaa Allaah. My children mostly learned from listening from a very young age maasha Allaah. May Allaah make you all memorisers of the qur’aan ameen. Take care my dear sister

  2. Assalaamuaalikum wa rah wa bar dearest sister in deen,
SubhanAllah im so amazed at the absolutely amazing work that you are doing here with your little ones…mashaAllah..May Allah taala always make everything easy for you and make your children sadaqa e jariya for you ameen, Dearest sister i have a little boy who is about 18 months now mashaAllah and i have been thinking on similar lines for a long time but seems like im moving without direction astaghfirullah. I would be so grateful to you if you take some time out of your precious schedule and jot me a few guidelines on how to go abut preparing myself, my little boy and family towards this decision and then going out it. Alhamdulillah ibrahim seems to be a smart baby and im so afraid i maynot be able to give him the proper ground to bcome a Hafidh, a lover of Allah taala and His kalaam. What could i do and what is the ideal age..what about homeschooling??? i know sister too many questions and subhanAllah they could be a blog post for you altogether. 🙂
May Allah taala reward you immensely and keep you safe and salamat. ameen

    • wa alaikumus salaam warahmatullaahi wa barakaatuh, I am soooooooo sorry it took me so long to write you back sis please forgive me. To answer some of your questions, with the method that we use with our children you can start a quite an early age in-shaa Allaah. We spend most of our hifdh time doing preparation by listening and reading or writing the surah in advance and then we spend time perfecting it when we sit to memorise it. Small children learn very well by listening maasha Allaah so you can play the surah that you would like to learn for him to listen to and you will soon see that by the permission of Allaah he will begin to recite the ayaat according to his ability. As for sitting them down for a proper lesson, we started this when they could speak and it was only for maybe 10 minutes or so per day to make small corrections like letters that they may of heard wrong while listening. One of the best methods however is making sure that at some point they are around when you are memorising as they usually copy what you are doing and learning. Never doubt yourself or be negative you are definetely capable of helping him, you can set a wonderful foundation for him just make lots of dua for him and try your best to stick to whatever routine you set. I do homeschool my children, this is my preference and it has to be somthng that you are sure you would like to do so I will not mention much about that. I’ll be making dua for you my dear sis may Allaah bless you all. I think I missed some things but I will be doing a more detailed post in-shaa Allaah and hopefully I will include anything that I missed out. Take care may jazaakillaahu khayran
