” Oh my children, I swear by Allah if knowledge could be poured into a glass, I would pour it for you, but it is not obtained except by hard work, exhaustion and scraping of knees.”
[Shaikh Muqbil Rahimahullaah]
Everytime I read this I’m captured by its beauty and simplicity. It was said by the great scholar Shaikh Muqbil from Yemen (Rahimahullaah). It’s enough of a reminder to all seekers of knowledge to remain steadfast upon their path and to be patient and persevere. It also displays the great love he had for his children and the gentle way in which he spoke to them. (I assume that he is speaking to his own children but he may well be addressing his students as he was a senior shaykh and Allaah knows best)
Alhamdulillaah came across another great blog that’s filled to the brim with resources to study the Arabic Language Maa-shaa Allaah.
Alhamdulillaah it has books and audios that are all available to download.
May Allaah reward them abundantly with good and accept all of their efforts ameen.
Heres the link
I read this today and would like to share it with you all. It is some advice given by the great Scholar Shaykh Al-Albani (Raheemahullaah) about the Qur’aan.
The Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him said:
“The Best of you are those who learn the Quran and teach it”
The Scholar Al-Albaani (may Allah have mercy upon him) said in his notes under this hadeeth in Silsilah as-Saheehah 1173:
And in this Hadeeth is: a direction into learning The Qur’aan, and that the best knowledge that a person can learn is learning the Qur’aan.
So how wishful it is that the students of knowledge would realize that. Because in it, is great benefit.
And fom the calamities that have hit our era is that you find many of the callers or the beginners amongst the students of knowledge going into giving fatwa’s (Islamic verdicts) and answering questions of people; while he hasn’t even made good his recitation of Suratul Faatiha from its proper recitation…’
Up to where he said..
‘..so advice to myself and then to them is that; the best of what a student of knowledge begins on is memorising The Quran’
This is another method of memorisation but it’s not from the book “Kayfa Tahfathul Qur’aan Al Kareem” By Dr Yahya Al Gawthaany.
The method we have today is:
How To Memorise a Page In 30mins/The Procrastinator Special.
People procrastinate in different areas of their lives and for different reasons. Unfortunately, I do it when I have to memorise. I do it sometimes because I’m tired but the main reason it happens is because I’m a perfectionist.
Sounds strange I know but let me explain…… (more…)
This is another method of memorisation from the excellent book “Kayfa Tahfathul Qur’aan Al Kareem” By Dr Yahya Al Gawthaany May Allaah reward him with much good for all of his good work.
The method we have chosen today is:
Al-Istifaadah min Al-Awqaat Adh-Dhaai’ah fis-Sayyaarah/ Benefitting From The Time Lost in The Car.
The Author wrote what could mean:
Many of the brothers that work a lot and have a desire to memorise the Qur’an say: “We don’t have any time.”
