Why we should read the Qur’aan with tajweed? from www.abouttajweed.com

Bismillaah…

Assalaamu alaikum,

I wanted to share an article I have about the importance of reading the Qur’aan with Tajweed.   This is a science that is often overlooked in modern times.  We are a nation that strive to follow the Qur’aan and Sunnah (with the understanding of the Salaf)  in our lives.  We try hard to learn and find out what the Prophet Muhammad (sallahu alaihi wa sallaam) did in his life so that we can imitate him.  We do this with the hope of  gaining more good reward from Allaah as we know his example is the best to follow.   This should be the same for the Qur’aan as the study of tajweed helps us to know how our beloved Prophet (Sallaahu alaihi wa sallaam) recited the Qur’aan.

The article was originally taken from the excellent tajweed website   About Tajweed  http://www.abouttajweed.com/index.php  Maasha Allaah May Allaah bless them and their work,  it’s a really good reference and you can even write to them and ask questions that do get answered.

Heres the article:

Bismillaah…

Assalaamu alaikum,

today I just want to share the story of a sister that converted to Islaam, went to memorise the Qur’aan then gained Ijaaza with an authentic chain going back to the Messenger of Allaah (salla Allaahu alaihi wa sallam) and has now authored 3 of the best Tajweed book I ever read maasha Allaah.  The article is from muslimmatters.org

Our new Schedule

Bismillaah….

Assalaamu alaikum,

This is our new schedule I pray Allaah accept it from us, make it easy for us to stick to it and increase upon it and put love in our hearts for it.

THE CHILDREN

Hifdh: Memorise for at least 30 minute per day Sunday-Thursday (Fri and Sat off).  In-shaa Allaah they will get 4-5 lines per day if  focused.

Hifdh prep: listening to the tapes/cds of the surahs with ayaat repeated at relaxation times especially before bed.

Review: Read 5 pages per day of surahs they’ve already memorised so 1/2  hizb.

UPDATE (21/08/2011) for review they now read 10 pages.

General reading: 5 mins per day

Rule No.1: Shaytaan does not like people that memorise Qur’aan!!

Bismillaah…

Assalaamu alaikum,

Maasha Allaah we’ve all  managed to sort out a new schedule of what everyone in the house is doing for hifdh and review.  Its taken so long because basically I couldn’t get my act together but alhamdulillah things are finally coming together for me.

What I am amazed by is how, as soon as we had started our new program I started to experience more problems in the household especially with my children, subhan Allaah.  Silly things that don’t normally happen were now happening and  making everyone upset. (more…)

Help to Understand the Qur’aan for those with little time

Bismillaah…

Assalaamu alaikum,

Here’s a really nice website for learning Arabic maasha Allaah.  It’s geared towards learning to understand the Qur’aan rather than conversation.  It’s also laid out in a way that has made it really easy and fun to follow maasha Allaah.

There are a few different courses to choose from with videos and Powerpoint presentations to follow.  Each lesson is about only about 15 minutes long which is nice especially if you on a tight schedule.

The best part is that they have promised that if you get to the end of the course you’ll understand 80% of the words in the Qur’aan subhan Allaah….not bad for 15 minutes per day huh!

The courses available in English are as follows: (more…)
