Our Journey as a family towards memorisation of the Qur'aan

Eidukum Mubarak

May Allah azza wa jalla accept all of our good deeds and yours aameen

Assalaamu Alaikum

May Allah aid you in all your efforts to come closer to Him and grant you the sweetness that can only be found in preforming deeds to seek His pleasure aameen.

May Allah grant you goodness in this life and the next and may He protect you from the fire aameen.

We wanted to share something else that we feel, with Allah’s permission, may help during those times when we feel like we’re stuck with our memorisation.

As we become more and more submerged in the world of social media, surrounded by virtual friends, many will honestly say that they’ve never felt more alone. Read the rest of this entry »

Assalaamu alaikum,

Theres something on my mind that’s really been bothering me.

I often meet people that feel sad and demotivated because they’re unable to memorise quickly. At times these people stop altogether as they feel they lack the ability to do it. As much as you try to convince them, they’re adamant that they’re incapable. It’s not that they’re unable but they’re usually not memorising as much as they wanted to. I wonder to myself, “who is it that they’re comparing themselves to?” why is the bar they’ve set so high?

A lot of the time, its children. They compare their “old brains to the fresh new and impressionable ones they see on videos or in the mosque or Quran schools etc. Maybe even their own.

I honestly think its wrong.

Thank you

Assalaamu alaikum,

I wanted to say thank you to those who’ve been encouraging us to come back to the blog. I’ve been wanting to return but was stuck on a hurdle of my own creation.  That gentle push was very helpful and with Allah’s permission put me back on track alhamdulillah.  Sharing everything on here is something that we really enjoy doing and being away made me so unhappy.  There’s so much more we want to do here and we pray that we’ll be back again sooner rather than later.

May Allah bless you and accept your efforts from you and make them heavy on your scale of good deeds and grant you goodness and happiness in this life and the next aameen.

Assalaamu alaikum

May Allah bless you and make your journey of memorisation an easy and enjoyable experience.  I pray that this journey brings us all closer to Allah and makes you from the ones that He loves.  I pray that he protects us from arrogance and show us that the more we learn, the more there is to learn.  May He protect us from insincerity and that all we do be strictly for His sake and may these deeds weigh heavy on our scale of good deeds aameen.

May Allah bless you.

I think its safe to say that most of us have experienced periods where the amount we memorise lessons.  There are so many reasons why it can happen but the result is the same, everything just slows down and sometimes… completely stops.

It’s sad no doubt but it isn’t the end, just a setback for now. Hopefully one day we’ll be able to look back and be thankful that we are no longer in this situation.  There is so much comfort to be found in the ayah where Allah mentions (English translation) after hardship comes ease.  It’s times like these that make you appreciate when Allah had given you that energy to and consistency.

We wanted to share a few things that we use to help each other when we feel this way.  With Allah’s permission, we’ll send them gradually so it’s not too much.

It’s an act of worship so, like all other deeds, it depends on our eman.  If you’re having trouble, it may be because your eman may be low.  To make it increase, you could try starting with small, easy acts of worship.

Making dua is the most powerful thing you could ever do to help yourself, it’s not just reserved for serious situations, we can call upon Allah’s help for everything.  Read the rest of this entry »

Juz Reading Chart

Assalaamu alaikum,

I pray that everyone is well, we ask Allah to grant you all good health and increase you all in His remembrance aameen.

This is a tick chart that we’re going to be using  to help monitor daily revision/reading.  At times we let the children get on with their reading just trusting that they are revising.  Its been fine for the most part but it’s never something that we like to do too much of. Assalaamu alaikum,

I pray that you’re all well and still buzzing from a beatiful Ramadhan and Super-Fun Eid!

We’d like to put these here for a special page called Ramadhan Prep .  Its early we know but we hope it’ll come in handy in a few months insha Allah

These charts might be helpful if you want to increase the amount  we read per day.  It may be that you would like to add to your daily amount or  build a consistent habit of opening your mushaf every day.  There is one for fluent readers (starts with 1/2 page)  and one for those that find reading challenging (starts for 1line) .  They are meant to be used as a rough guide but you can alter as you wish.
